Saturday, July 21st.

Elena's second day in Colorado began with a toasted bagel topped with cinnamon sugar and Colorado grown cantaloupe melon.......  eaten on the deck while it was still cool enough to be outside.  Later in the morning, we headed to our favorite shopping mall which people from other states travel long distances to visit.  She and Allison wandered the Mall for a short while (Elena bought new black Converse shoes) and for lunch, in the food court, she chose "Chik-fil-A" which is a Colorado favorite fast-food restaurant (only serves chicken) which we eat at all too often.

Next, we headed to the United Flight Training Center to visit where Missy works as a Pilot Instructor.  Elena flew the Boeing 777 Simulator amazingly well, no joke!  She remembered instructions, listened well, and flew smoothly (always with a smile on her face!).  She even landed 4 times!  I am not exaggerating when I say, she is a natural pilot!  Watch out Iberia, here comes Elena!

The evening brought music, picnic food, friends, family, and even cannons to an already eventful day.  Allison (13) played with her Honor Band in a concert at a local park so many friends and family came to watch.  We enjoyed a nice evening listening to concert music and introducing Elena to our family and close friends.  At the the end of a performance of the "Overture of 1812" several authentic cannons fired blank rounds, toward the lake, which were loud, smokey, and very realistic. They were fun to watch!

Now the 3 girls are cuddled up on the couch watching "How to Train Your Dragon" which features a song that Allison's band played tonight.  Time for bed, girls........  ZZZZzzzzzzz.....
