WaterWorld and Band (lots of band)

What do you do on a HOT HOT day? Play in the water, of course! So we took Elena to one of the largest water parks in the country, WaterWorld. We rode tube rides, slide rides, and played with the waves in the huge wave pool. Elena probably thought I was a crazy woman insisting we put so much sunscreen on throughout the day but Colorado sun is so intense! No sunburns on my watch!
We brought our own lunch into the park which meant that Elena was treated to a typical American easy/pack lunch.... PB&J (peanut butter and jelly for our Spanish readers). This was a first for Elena and she liked it so much that she made herself a second sandwich! Yum!!! Perhaps she will start a new trend in Madrid?
We left WaterWorld tired, hot, and ready for ice cream.... Thank goodness McDonalds is up the block from Honor Band practice!
Speaking of Honor Band, Elena finished her long day hanging out with band geeks (yes, we're included in that bunch of geeks, of course)! For 3 1/2 hours, Elena sat with Allison who plays both trumpet and flute between two different bands.  Looooooooong day.  But fun!

Now off to bed for us.....we need to get our rest for an early morning tomorrow...... Its a RIVER RAFTING day tomorrow!

Wave pool (the only calm moment we saw)

Instant BFF's!

Elena is so "sweet" to Lindsay!  And Lindsay adores Elena!

PB&J anyone?

Elena watches Allison play her in the first of 2 band practices.
